Shipping policy
Last updated: 24 SEP 2026
This policy sets out the arrangements for delivery of orders placed through our online shop. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
In this policy, "MOCA", "we" and "us" mean Museum of Chinese in Australia Limited (ABN 50 489 948 017).
1. Where we deliver
We deliver within Australia. For delivery outside Australia, please contact us before ordering. We will advise whether delivery can be arranged and the applicable cost.
2. Delivery cost
Delivery charges are calculated at checkout and shown to you before you complete your order. Where we offer free delivery above a spend threshold, the threshold and how it applies are shown in the shop.
3. Collecting your order at the museum
You may elect to collect your order from the museum instead of having it delivered. We will notify you when the order is ready for collection. Please bring your order confirmation. Orders may be collected during our opening hours, which are published on our website.
If an order is not collected within a reasonable period, we will contact you to arrange collection or an alternative.
4. Processing and dispatch
We aim to dispatch orders promptly once payment is received and the order is accepted. Dispatch may take longer during peak periods, exhibition openings and public holidays. If we expect a significant delay, we will contact you.
5. Delivery times
Delivery times depend on the carrier and the destination. Any delivery estimate provided, whether at checkout or by email, is an estimate supplied by the carrier and is not a guaranteed delivery date.
We are not able to guarantee delivery by a particular date. If an item is required by a specific date, please contact us before ordering so that we can advise whether this is possible.
6. Tracking
Where tracking is available for the delivery method used, tracking details will be provided on dispatch.
7. Delivery details
Please check your delivery address before completing your order. Where an order cannot be delivered because the address provided was incorrect or incomplete, we may require you to pay the cost of resending it.
Where you instruct us, or authorise the carrier, to leave a parcel in a particular place, you accept the risk of loss or damage arising from that instruction.
8. If your order is delayed, lost or damaged
Please contact us. Until an order is delivered to you, responsibility for it rests with us. We will liaise with the carrier to locate the parcel, or arrange a replacement or refund as appropriate.
Please notify us of a delivery problem as soon as reasonably practicable. Where an item has arrived damaged, please retain the packaging, as it may be required for a carrier claim.
9. Returned to sender
Where a parcel is returned to us undelivered, we will contact you to arrange redelivery or a refund. Where the parcel was returned for a reason within your control, we may require you to pay the cost of redelivery.
10. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or under any other law that cannot be excluded. Our Refund and Returns Policy explains those rights in more detail.
